John Winchester

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with Supernatural, a show on the CW. I was browsing the discussions of Supernatural on Facebook, and ran across a post about John Winchester being the vessel of God. If anyone reads this, I'd like your opinions!

This is the post that someone made:
"First of all i want everybody to know that what i say here is strictly from a Christian perspective (dont start hating on me because i have a religion im passionate about).

"But God appearing as John? God wouldn't need a vessel, He's omnipotent and the Creator of everything! Do you think that He'd need to ask permission? Also for all of you saying Mary (im expecting some hate for this), but God created Adam first, He created man in His image, why then would he appear as a woman? Again, im not trying to be sexist, but any reasonable Christian has to assume this. And for Bobby, why Bobby? Sure he's knowledgable, but it doesn't make logical sense that God's vessel would become paraplegic or be possessed by a demon (do you honestly think a body that holy would allow a demon inside?)."

This is my reply to that dude.
"Don't think I'm flaming you or anything, but these are my opinions.
"I think God may need a vessel. He is omnipotent and much more powerful than the angels. Don't forget that most humans can't look at angels! Why would any human be able to look upon the face of God?
On the paraplegic comment... do you think Bobby would STAY that way while GOD was in him? And yes, you do sound sexist. Oh WAIT the whole religion is interpreted by MEN to BE sexist! *gasp*
God created everything. Do men create life? No so much. They just lend a hand (er... you get what I mean). There are plenty of groups out there that have opened up to the possibility that God is a woman. God created humans to be similar to him, I.E. limbs, heads, faces, etc. Man is a collective term, not necessarily referring to males.
"'As it is in Heaven, so shall it be on Earth."- The Arch Angel Gabriel
"Dean and Sam are brothers. Michael and Lucifer are brothers. It makes sense to reasonable people that the Winchesters' father could be the vessel of the Angels' father. Bobby is a father figure so it makes sense, but not as much as John being the vessel.
"Why would it matter that John was possessed once? Castiel told Jimmy that being a vessel is in his blood. Meaning that it was determined before he was considered "needed." If it's in the blood for Dean and Sam, it's most likely in the blood for John as well. The angels can bring people back to life, so the fact that John is dead isn't an issue.
"God doesn't need things to be holy. He can TOUCH the damned thing and it would become holy. Come on!"
Anyone else have an opinion?

Music

Kay, so... I've been wanting to find a band to sing with. I figured, what the heck? I might as well post an ad on craigslist and see what comes up! Then, maybe I would post my voice online somewhere. Myspace didn't work. Apparently, there's no way to post it here, either. I'm checking Facebook, but it looks like unless I wanna learn some HTML I've got no chance. :(

Job Scams

For the past few months I've been job searching. I go out and ask for applications, I go through the phonebook to call and ask who's hiring, and I have profiles on several career websites. One thing I'm starting to realize, especially with careerbuilder.com, is that you can pretty much delete any job offers you get via email.
People send emails saying they've looked at your CV and think you're qualified for this position. It sounds like a real job, the pay isn't too good to be true, and it all seems legit. Until you try to talk to someone. I got a job offer from a company called Bat-Tour, and decided to google it. I didn't find much, because apparently they used to go by Petra-Tour. It's a check cashing scam. I want to know why careerbuilder and other sites are letting these people through. Granted, I know there are a lot of people and profiles on those sites, but COME ON! Sometimes I'll get two or three emails a day. Thankfully, most of the job sites have a "report fraud" or similar option. I'm definitely using it!
I found a site that has a bunch of information about scams and fraud. It's got fake emails, job scams, get-rich-quick schemes, and plenty of other warnings and articles. What's really cool is that anyone can send in a scam that isn't on there yet. Of course, good luck finding one someone hasn't posted yet. :)

And so, I continue my quest for employment. I'm slightly afraid to go outside in my little Grand Prix. If my sister's van gets stuck in the snow, how the heck am I supposed to get around? First thing I'm getting when I have a steady income: a truck! :D

OmahaLOL

So... moving to Omaha, NE. My older sister lives up there and she said there were a lot of people hiring. I haven't been able to get a decent job here in OKC, so I'm scootin' on up. I leave my apartment tonight, my rats are gone, I'm donating my gecko to a church, and I'm flying to Vegas tomorrow. After Vegas I'll be back for two days and leave on the 12th. Woo!
People keep asking me if I'm excited about both trips. My reply is usually "Meh."
I'm not excited. I think it's a good thing, but I'm not jumping up and down for joy. I'm leaving most of my family in OK. I'm happy to be going to Nebraska, but... yeah. Whatever.

Zombies at Walmart

An update on my life is in order, I think. I didn't plan this entry at all (when do I ever?) so it may be a little awkward.
I work at Things Remembered now. I'm surprised by how much I like working in retail. Unfortunately we're going through changes in management, and I feel that my employment is at risk. (Who doesn't feel that way these days?) I'm hoping to catch a job at Best Buy, Office Depot, or some place close to home where I can get the hours I need, 'cause I'm not getting enough now.
College is being put off another semester because of financial issues. *sigh* I will finish, I just have a few things that need to be settled first. I'm hoping I'll be able to join the military. I seriously considered it when I was 18, but I thought physical limitations (mostly asthma) would keep me out. Apparently those were the words of a lazy recruiter doing manatory phone calls.
Mom is still with Billy and Billy is still driving me nuts. He's a good guy, we just have to get used to each other. I swear that man has ADHD, OCD, and a little NUTS mixed in. Mama loves him though, and he makes her feel like a princess, so it's cool. She comes home to a clean house every day because of his OCD. Haha! I've been trying to keep it clean too. Since I don't have internet or cable at home, I spend a couple days a week at their house while they're at work to check blogs, galleries, and generally catch up on the world.
Dad has a lady-friend that he's serious about. Her name is Anne Marie (sorry if I didn't spell it right) and she's a teacher. So far whoever has met her likes her, including me. We share similar views on some things. Mom is going to meet her tonight and keeps asking me questions. XD
My sister, Jennifer, is starting to move into her new house. I think she's happy and really stressed about it. Jason will hopefully have time to escort me to the local Navy recruiter this week.
Bored carrier guys FTW.

Oh, totally forgot. The Zombies at Walmart thing? FUNKY DREAM, I tell ya! No one had any guns to blow their heads off. Just... random things that they sell at Walmart. It was entertaining. :D

Battle Royale

I just watched the movie Battle Royale. The manga is one of my favorites, and also the goriest thing in my collection. If you don’t know what it is, I’ll tell you a bit. The Japanese government (in the story) has gone nuts. A group of ninth graders are chosen from a lottery to be sent to an island. They’re told they have to kill each other, given weapons, and let loose. Chaos ensues as it’s kill-or-be-killed. Only one student can survive, and if there’s more than one left after the third day, everyone dies. Charming plot, eh?
The movie was pretty decent, I think, but lacking in horror. There should have been more exposed brains and sexuality, like in the manga, you know? Popping eyeballs and broken/missing teeth, missing limbs... These are the things I missed most. :( What does that say about my personality?
The acting was pretty much what I expected it to be. Shunya was a bit... wimpier than I would have liked, but he's a sensitive guy in the manga, so whatever. Why is his character so popular? *sigh* There's plenty of Kawada and evil-killer-boy to make me feel better. Is it just me, or is Kawada played by that guy who was in Moon Child? His character was good, but could have been expanded on... I would have liked to see a bit more Mimura, too. Eh, anyway...
I only have volume one (the big one! It's like two inches thick!) of the comic, so I didn't know what was going to happen. What I saw was pretty close to the book, even though some of the characters were different, and it made my fangirl heart go SQUEE! I wish the thing with Nobu had been closer to the original.
I liked the scenery and the setting for the place. I didn't notice the music much, so I'm thinking it wasn't too bad. I liked the classical music. It was fitting, in a way.
I would write a more intelligent review if it wasn't so far past my bed time. Jeez, it's not even midnight yet. I'm too young to feel this old... srsly.
If I got the names wrong, feel free to send me a comment and correct me. I’m bad with names.

Visual Kei

Visual Kei fascinates me. It's just so... visual! Japanese musicians dress in outstanding, crazy clothes and do nutty things. It's kind of similar to American glam rock. I've always kind of been into it, but here lately I can't keep my eyes on it. Some of the costumes are so beautiful. Some of the men look like women and they're so pretty that it embarrasses me! O.O I decided to blog about this because I recently got a Dir en Grey album, Withering to Death. It's very Gothic and heavy, and I love the vocals. Anyway, I like pretty things, and some of those boys are definitely pretty! These guys are anything but sissies, though. Kyo, the lead singer, mutilated himself on stage. Someone on concert-photos.com says,
"Kyo sings with intensity I have rarely seen in any band. He bleeds power, emotion, and adrenaline. Literally, he bleeds; Half way through the second song, he begins deeply scratching himself across his chest and stomach drawing blood. I tried to frame a few pictures of Kyo to show the scars from previous concert performances.
This is nothing. He is just getting started. Kyo stands up on a box in the front of the stage, leans back, hands and head back in a surrendering pose. Kyo starts fish-hooking and scratching at the inside of his mouth. Within seconds, blood and skin are oozing out of his mouth and down his chest. He wipes the blood all over his face and down his body. This self mutilation only intensifies Dir En Grey’s concert performance"
I would love to see one of their performances. Not for the blood, of course, but for the passion they put into their music. And to stare at those guys... hoo, boy. More laterz, I'm gonna watch more videos! :D

Sabaton Love!~

I updated the colors and stuff for the blog. Yep. And it's totally snowing!
I'm in love with Sabaton. I want to go see them in Sweden, but I'll have to wait for a while. That's an expensive trip! :( I really like their sound. The vocalist, Joakim Broden, has room for improvement but he puts emotion into his lyrics. They mostly sing about historic wars and battles. When I listen to it, I can almost see it happening. Also, the band is freaking awesome! The guitarists are great and the guy who plays keyboards does a wonderful job at creating the atmosphere. The drummer and bass players are hot- I mean very skilled.
They're doubly amazing because they started it all by themselves. They recorded the album Metalizer on their own. It's horrible compared to the others, but it still has that huge potential. Even the bad songs are worth listening to, and the lyrics are very good on some. If they'd had a good production team behind them, it probably would have been a lot better. The improvement between albums is obvious, which makes me appreciate them even more.
They might be coming to the U.S. later this year, but it's all T.B.A.
I've found myself listening to more metal than country lately. :P
